We're coming to your door Ward 4! Team Tammy was We're coming to your door Ward 4! Team Tammy was out in Bartonville today. What we heard at the doors is that people are concerned about affordability. Cities should not be relying so much on property taxes. Those who listened to our city budget meetings know I care a lot about responsible spending and strategic investments. For the past 4 years: - I worked hard to build-up the revenue generating capacity of the City of Hamilton to offset and reduce our reliance on property taxes. - I helped attract and retain businesses to increase investments in Ward 4 and the city. - I found efficiencies in our municipal budget to reduce the property taxes but not reduce our service levels. - I ensured we invested responsibly in our infrastructure, like our roads and water mains. … I’m a small business owner and fellow Ward 4 property tax payer. I know the importance of fiscal responsibility. Let’s continue working towards a fiscally resilient city. Let’s keep moving #OnWard4 ! … #hamont #hamont2026 #yhmvote
While meeting a resident at @cannoncoffeeco , I re While meeting a resident at @cannoncoffeeco , I reflected on the safety improvements we've made the ones we ones coming up in the future. . . . During my term (and before too), vehicles drove into the buildings at the intersection of Cannon St E and Ottawa St N. These accidents hurt people, those in the accident and those at the businesses. I worked with City staff and together we installed opposing traffic lights and bollards to protect the curbs. The final version is coming -- but we couldn't sit back and let it continue until then. I saw the need, and I took action to fix the problem. . . I believe in continuing this momentum of change to improve Hamilton for the better. To clarify: I pay market rent for my home, and like many Hamiltonians I’ve been navigating a difficult housing market and affordability challenges since before I became councillor. As Ward 4 councillor, my focus has been on results, serving on 49 committees, chairing Planning, and working on City Housing Hamilton’s board to deliver new affordable housing: from the 82 units now open at Queenston & Main, to supporting the hundreds more affordable and supportive housing underway city wide in the coming years, i’m working for Ward 4 and Hamiltonians on tackling this crisis. To Mr. Hayden Lawrence, I acknowledge and appreciate your past community work in Niagara and Hamilton, and your ongoing role with the Tiger-Cats. If you’d like to support affordable housing efforts, I’d gladly meet for a coffee to hear your ideas. And with the Labour Day Classic ahead, it’s worth remembering: like cheering for the Ticats, we’re all on the same team when it comes to building a stronger, more affordable Hamilton.
